How to prepare yourself for children

Isn't she so cute!? We have loved being able to vacation so much this summer but it has had its down sides. Rhona was getting into a great routine here. She was very well potty trained and doing very well in the house. For about three weeks her routine was thrown off by going to the mountains for a week and not being in her own house for another week and then being home for only a couple days before we left her again. I now have a little bit of a feel how parents feel with little kids when they go on vacation and come back feeling like there kid's schedules have been thrown off. Rhona has some how forgotten that she is not allowed in the kitchen and that she can't pee in the house. It's like we have to start over with those things. Argh! She is already doing better now that we have been back a week but we are still re-establishing those things that she has seemed to forget for a short while. I just have to remember that she is still a puppy even though she doesn't look like a puppy and she is still learning. A dog definitely prepares you somewhat for children. I am learning lots!

Bahahaha! I am glad that you are getting some practice! Just think, most kids aren't potty trained until they are almost 2 - sometimes later - and by 9 months they usually figure out how to take of their diaper so that opens up a whole new world of peeing on the carpet. I miss you. (Not because you pee on the carpet because YOU DON'T...I just miss you in general.)

It really does sound like you're getting pretty good training for kids. I hope we get to meet Rhona sometime in the near future.
