The Spaulding Way: Amazing people and one good thought

There are a few people in my life that I consider friends. In this blog I will write about a few of them. I will try to explain why I call them friends and also I will try to explain what a friend really means. This past week I went to visit friends back east. In doing this I left my best friend in the entire world back in the west. If you don't know who that is I am talking about the only reason I am going to make it into heaven and that is my wife Becky and yes I truly mean that. I consider marrying Becky the single greatest thing that I have ever done in my life. When I look at her I want to be better, act better, and well do everything better, though I may fall short at times she is always there to help me get back up brush of and start over again. That's how I define best friend. Next I want to tell you a bout a few people first Jeff and his wife Sydney. Jeff Introduced me to my wife Becky ( for that I owe him for eternity). To know Jeff is to know what hard work is all about. I have never seen one man try so hard to do everything right and do everything the best way he knows how. Sydney his wife did something that I never thought possible (ok not ever and Jeff if you read this I truly believe what i am about to write) she became the source of Jeff's happiness. To see those two together in my opinion defines true companionship. Kevin who is Jeff's brother is not only a hard worker but I have never seen a man go through the physical injuries he has (broken hip and torn ACL) and still be as positive as he is. His outlook on life is one that I hope to have one day. This past week I stayed at Kevin's house was given a bed and food to eat. He defines generosity. Golden and Carly are two people who are not hard to define let me explain what I see in them. When I have a question about business I ask Golden what he thinks or if he has any ideas, Golden is the guy I call and yes that is his real name. Golden is always encouraging and supportive of good ideas and not of bad ones. His wife Carly who is an amazing mother (by the way and Golden is a great Dad I got to see them in action last week they got skills people) as well as knows her stuff about houses. Now let me explain that, I went back east and visited some chiropractors, one happens to be retiring in the near future and presented me with a possible opportunity. So I do what I do and I got excited and for fun started looking at houses no not to buy but for fun and saw that they weren't that expensive not that I had the money for them now but if the opportunity that was presented works out it would make house ownership a reality sooner than later. Well I told Becky she said why don't we rent, my Dad said the same and so did Carly, and explained why she made that suggestion ,I don't know the area, yes its money you may not see but you save on costs that you would have if you bought a house, and you can get out when you want. Carly and Golden (Carly gets top billing that's what happens when you give birth to a child u become the toughest person on earth and besides Carly could take Golden) define wisdom. Now if you are not mentioned in this Blog it is nothing personal. I was watching general conference this morning and felt inspired to write these thing right then and there. Final thought , Do nothing unless it makes you a better person. If it doesn't make you better or those around you want to be better than it was a waste of time for you and others. Having these people in my life makes me do exactly that, not waste time , and be better, and that defines friendship. Thanks you guys.
